Coconut shell is the hard layer around the coconut meat that remains once the meat and water have been taken out. It is sold as a raw material in two kinds, by how clean it is of husk fibre: black clean shell and black shell with husk attached.
Coconut shell is not the same as coir fibre (the fibre from the outer husk) or coco peat (the spongy dust from the outer husk). We have 500 g sample bags of both kinds of shell.
