Coir is the fibre separated from the outer husk of the coconut. Long fibre (bristle fibre) is used for brushes; shorter fibre (mattress fibre) goes into mattresses and padding.

Coir fibre is not coco peat: coco peat is the fine, spongy dust that comes with the fibre when it is extracted, and is sold separately. The fibre is pressed into bales, and fibre length is to your specification.
